I didn't think it could, but it does.

Get worse that is.

Every new piece of shit that comes out about this storm paints this administration in an even worse light.

Here are some examples:

On the Al Franken show this afternoon I mentioned this article from today's Salt Lake Tribune which tells the story of about a thousand firefighters from around the country who volunteered to serve in the Katrina devastation areas. But when they arrived in Atlanta to be shipped out to various disaster zones in the region, they found out that they were going to be used as FEMA community relations specialists.

Operation "Make The President Look Like He Actually Gives a Shit" in action, diverting needed resources from rescue and relief operations to form a human backdrop for the Fucktard-In-Chief.

Hideous.

On Monday, the Tribune says, some firefighters began to take off their FEMA-issued T-shirts in protest. A FEMA spokesman responded by questioning the firefighters' willingness to help in a time of need. "I would go back and ask the firefighter to revisit his commitment to FEMA, to firefighting and to the citizens of this country," FEMA spokeswoman Mary Hudak told the Tribune.

Well, at least some of the men and women realized they had been had by this President and showed their disgust. Not that the spokesbitch at FEMA noticed or cares. Gotta make the President look "compassionate." Whatever.

The U.S. agency leading Hurricane Katrina rescue efforts said Tuesday that it does not want the news media to photograph the dead as they are recovered.

No, don't dare print anything that might remind Americans how bad this President completely and utterly fucked up and allowed men, women and children to die while he played Gee-tar and ate cake like Marie Antoinette.

The Katrina Timeline:

8/26 - Governor Blanco (D-Louisiana) declares a State of Emergency
8/27 - Governor Blanco asks President Bush to declare State of Emergency
8/27 - FEDERAL EMERGENCY DECLARED, DHS AND FEMA GIVEN FULL AUTHORITY TO RESPOND TO KATRINA: “Specifically, FEMA is authorized to identify, mobilize, and provide at its discretion, equipment and resources necessary to alleviate the impacts of the emergency.” [White House]

Sorta puts a wrench in that whole "Louisiana didn't ask for help, so we couldn't send it" bullshit, doesn't it?

I'm getting so sick of this. Thank the gods the media is actually doing their job for once.

As I said in earlier posts, the media and this administration cannot talk about the deaths of the people in the abstract because they are dying right here within our borders because of the lack of response from the federal agencies tasked with giving them aid in the time of disaster.

It's sickening, it's hideous and they will pay in spades for the way they have acted and reacted.
